How to care for your Candle

To get the most out of your GypsyLit soy candles, follow these tips! Your candle will last longer and burn cleaner.

  • Burn for long enough that the melted wax pool reaches all the way to the edge (around one hour)

  • Do not burn for more than four hours at a time

  • Always trim your wick to 1/4 inch before lighting your candle (yes, every time)

  • Do not burn when there is less than 1cm of wax left in the bottom

And here's some very important safety instructions to prevent accidents or fire.

  • Keep candle free of foreign materials including matches and wick trimmings

  • Never burn on or near anything that could catch fire

  • Never burn while unattended

  • Keep out of reach of children and pets

Why is my Candle tunneling? What can I do!?

You can fix a tunneled candle by wrapping a piece of aluminum foil around the edges and simply letting it burn. Make sure the foil hangs over the built-up wax areas but leave an opening in the center so the wick can still burn properly. After a couple of hours, the wax should melt and even out the surface

Why is my candle sweating? What is sweating?

If you see beads or small oil build up on the top of your candles, your candle might be sweating. Sweating is notorious in 100% soy wax candles and is a sign that the product is all natural. Soy wax is very sensitive to extreme temperature changes, causing the natural oils to separate from the wax and leaving pools of oil on top. Sweating will not affect the quality of your candle at all. You can simply wipe off the excess oil with a tissue. To avoid this in the future, make sure to keep your candles away from drafts, direct sunlight and room that vary in temperature.

How to use a Reed Diffusers.

Place the sticks that came with your reed diffuser into the bottle to absorb the diffuser oil .

Flip sticks so that the "dry" side of the sticks is now closest to the bottle and the saturated end is in the air.

Place unsaturated (dry) end of the sticks into the bottle

Let your reed diffuser naturally permeate your space. Reed diffusers will continue to evaporate into the air, creating a subtle and luxurious scent.

To refresh the fragrance of the reed diffuser, simply flip the Reed stick once a week to get the most out of the aroma.
